Experiment

Quiche

Right. So, I strongly dislike Betty Crocker now. At least, one of the recipes. Back when I was over at allura and greywolfmd's house, I wanted to make Quiche. Unfortunately, some of the people there don't like egg, so it never came to pass. Luckily, that is not an issue here.

In summation, the Quiche was good. Also, Betty Crocker can die in a fire. Goodnight everybody, and stay safe out there.

::Edit::
Anybody have any quiche recipes that they especially like?

Right. So, in looking for a cookbook here that contains a recipe for carrot cake, I discovered that we have a copy of The Joy of Cooking, 1943 edition. Unfortunately, does not contain carrot cake. However, it does contain many recipes that I am more than willing to try, and since it has several chapters on how to deal with Meatless and Sweetless days. Yay Rationing!

But yeah, as soon as I found it, I basically went into a half-hour long gush-fest about how awesome a discovery this book is. If you didn't know, I absolutely adore things written and published in the years between 1920 and 1950. While I tend towards Sci-Fi of that era, I am happy with basically anything. It was such an amazing age, and the fact that I am learning to cook with recipes from that era makes me squee with joy.

Sadly, this edition does not contain any recipes for carrot cake, so I get to keep looking.
