"The status quo gives us a boring culture. In a society of over 300 million people, only 30 new artists a year sell a million records. By any measure, that's a huge failure."

Not the point of the article, but a damned good point anyway.
  • I'll have to take a closer look at it. Anything that bashes the RIAA gets a thumbs-up from me, though. Burn, Hollywood, Burn!
    • Ah, yes, Courtney Love. I may not agree with her on much, but she's absolutely right. Versions of the same spiel can be found at the negativland site, and Chuck D of Public Enemy was pointing the way to the Promised Land of digital freedom back in '99.

We just need to send some of the corrupt bitches working down 270 from you out to pasture and replace them with some honest thieves that aren't working for the music industry. Could take a while, though...there's a war on, and W's mind is on slightly more important things.
      • Yeah, I was a tad bit hesitant to post the link, as I am not really a fan of her, by any stretch of the term. However, I started reading this, and with each passing paragraph I became convinced that she was rather eloquent. At least, for the most part. I still do not understand the need to use vulgar language, though. It is rather irritating, to say the least.
